Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe saw revenue just slightly down last year as court closures impacted the firm’s litigation practices, though profits per equity partner saw double-digit percentage growth.

Revenue at the firm declined 0.5%, from $1.16 billion to $1.15 billion. Revenue per lawyer decreased 0.7%, from $1.17 million to $1.16 million.

But profits per equity partner jumped 10.9%, from $2.27 million to $2.52 million.

Orrick chairman and CEO Mitch Zuklie said 2020 was a “solid” year given the pandemic, adding that the firm’s litigation practice—which accounts for 50% of its business—did “less well” than its transactional practice as courts remained closed.
