Willkie Farr & Gallagher saw its profit pool grow by 20% even as head count increased significantly, driven by the revival of the M&A and private equity market in the latter half of 2020. The firm advised on three times as many billion-dollar deals in 2020 as it did in 2019.

Gross revenue at the firm jumped 13.6%, from $868 million to $986 million. Revenue per lawyer (RPL) grew 4%, from $1,247,000 to $1,297,000. Profits per equity partner (PEP) increased by 10.9% from $3,169,000 to $3,516,000, as net income increased by 20%.
