Bayer has agreed to a $2 billion class action settlement — its second attempt to resolve future lawsuits over Monsanto’s Roundup pesticide.

The deal, announced on Wednesday, includes a $1.325 billion compensation fund program under which Roundup users can make claims for a period of four years. No such fund existed in a similar $1.1 billion class action settlement that lawyers reached in June but were forced to withdraw after U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria, of the Northern District of California, raised numerous concerns.
