Norway has become the latest European country to take aim at a U.S. tech company with a million-dollar fine over its failure to comply with the EU’s stringent data protection laws.

Norway’s data protection agency Datatilsynet announced Tuesday that it intends to hand dating app company Grindr a fine of 100 million Norwegian krone ($11.7 million) over its failure to obtain proper consent from users of the free version of the app before sharing their personal data with advertising companies.
