A British appeals court has set aside a ruling against the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro and said the court should reconsider its earlier decision preventing the government of the Venezuelan leader from withdrawing $1 billion in gold reserves held by the Bank of England.

A British judge had denied the Maduro government’s request in July, arguing that the bank could not release the funds because the U.K. “has unequivocally recognised” opposition leader Juan Guaidó as president of the South American country.
