The Singapore Convention on Mediation, also known as the United Nations (UN) Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, has taken effect.
The Singapore Convention seeks to encourage businesses to resolve cross-border commercial disputes outside of court. It aims to give businesses more confidence in opting for mediation to resolve commercial disputes by providing a uniform international framework to enforce mediated settlement agreements.
