Allen & Overy (A&O) has cut its bonus structure for junior associates in favour of substantial hikes in its base-rate pay.

The firm has raised associate salaries by up to 27% with newly qualified (NQ) lawyers now getting paid £78,500 a year, up from £66,500. The changes backdated to 1 May 2015.
