Norton Rose’s tie-up with Canada’s Macleod Dixon has handed the firm a lead role on the $5.4bn (£3.5bn) acquisition of Canadian gas exploration company Progress Energy Resources by Malaysia’s Petronas, reports The Asian Lawyer.

A Norton Rose team in Calgary is advising the state-owned oil and gas company on the deal, headed up by energy partners Chrysten Perry and Kevin Johnson. They both joined Norton Rose as part of the firm’s merger with Macleod Dixon, which went live at the start of the year.
