UK firms could be forced to change their policies on overseas trainees following a ruling in a Bristol employment tribunal against Osborne Clarke. The ruling saw an Indian student win a case against Osborne Clarke, which was found guilty of indirect discrimination for asking applicants to supply information on whether they would need a work permit to work in the UK.Following the ruling, which was handed down on 9 February, the firm has had to remodel its application form so that it only asks for work permit information after the student has been offered a position with the firm.
