“I am nearly 36 and after 13 years working in financial regulation/risk management in the City, I now want to change career and become a solicitor. I graduated with a 2:1 in law from the University of Durham in the mid-1990s and decided against a career in law at the time, but feel that it’s now or never if I want to become a solicitor.

“Am I too late/old to make this career change? Do law firms just want fresh-faced youths they can mould into their own image, rather than older graduates who come with ‘baggage’?
