New robes set to be worn by the judiciary have been designed by fashion designer Betty Jackson, it was announced earlier this week (12 May). The changes are due to come into effect on 1 October, when the new civil robe will replace wigs, wing collars and bands for Court of Appeal and High Court judges in civil and family proceedings. Jackson worked on a pro bono basis as the design consultant for the new gown.
