Kirkland & Ellis’ much-vaunted assault on the City’s private equity market has suffered a blow with the news that high-profile recruit, Raymond McKeeve, has resigned.

McKeeve handed in his notice earlier this week (4 March) to take on a role outside the law. His resignation comes just two years after he joined the firm from Linklaters along with private equity chief Graham White in one of the most high-profile – and expensive – team hires in the City by a US firm. Both reportedly joined on seven-figure packages.
