US insurance giant Genworth Financial has promoted former compliance director James Rember to the role of general counsel for Europe. He replaces outgoing European general counsel Guy Dunlop, who returned to his former firm Clifford Chance as a senior associate earlier this month. Ramer will take responsibility for the company's corporate governance matters in the region and lead legal teams across 21 European countries. Rember joined Genworth as the legal and compliance director for the company's payment protection insurance business in 2001.
