Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed Andreas Fabritius as the sole head of its corporate department, in a highly-symbolic move that marks the last of its department head appointments. Frankfurt-based Fabritius was previously co-head of the firm’s corporate practice group alongside London-based Gavin Darlington, who stood down from the role in October 2005. Fabritius’ selection as the head of the firm’s top-tier practice is the last leadership appointment in Freshfields’ eight departments, as the firm moves away from its dual-head system.
