Linklaters and Allen & Overy (A&O) have secured a significant mandate advising the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) on a £4.7bn first securitisation of its residential mortgage portfolio.

The deal saw RBS take an unusual ‘double’ role as owner-issuer of the portfolio and as arranger and underwriter of the bonds.
