Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) is braced for a fall in revenues with the insurance leader citing the end of a trio of lucrative contentious cases – including the high-profile Equitable Life court battle – for the downturn.

BLG senior partner Richard Dedman told Legal Week that an internal review showed that the end of three major cases in the first half of its 2005-06 year was responsible for the dip, which is forecast to see turnover drop by 1%-2%.
