Rugby League governing body RFL has split its legal panel in two and dropped long-standing adviser Addleshaw Goddard in favour of Farrer & Co and Pinsent Masons.

The Leeds-based governing body has appointed Farrers to advise it on sports law, a brief that will include sponsorship, intellectual property, disciplinary procedures and anti-doping regulations. Pinsents has been appointed as general legal adviser with a remit covering property, employment law and general litigation.
