Removing the barriers that currently separate barristers and solicitors is possibly the most radical proposal put forward by the Clementi report.
Sir David’s much-trailed review of the legal profession says legal disciplinary practices (LDPs) should be permitted, the precise definition of the grouping being “a law practice which brings together barristers, solicitors and other lawyers on an equal footing”.
