Bar Council and Law Society in talks over barristers' fees

The Bar Council and Law Society have renewed talks to create a standard contractual agreement for solicitors engaging barristers as the Bar moves to strengthen payment safeguards for advocates.

The move sees the Bar Council rekindle talks with Chancery Lane after previous negotiations to forge a standard form of contract broke down in 2003.
