Two months on from Bob Smyth’s appointment as senior partner of Burges Salmon, those who might have expected him to sweep in like the proverbial new broom have been proved resoundingly wrong.
After a busy year, the southwest's law firms are in an expansionist mood, with new practices and new homes the order of the day. But the bluechip Burges Salmon looks unlikely to be sparking any fireworks, despite a change of face at the top. Ben Cardew reports
