Supermarket chain J Sainsbury instructed Addleshaw Goddard corporate partner Stephen Houston to advise on its £22m acquisition of Bells Stores from the Bells family. This deal sees Sainsbury’s take over 54 Bells Stores in the northeast of England. The transaction continues the trend of supermarket chains snapping up convenience stores and moving into the smaller retail sector. Dickinson Dees corporate partner Nigel Williams advised the vendor.
