Weil Gotshal & Manges has seen profits per partner hit $1.5m (£792,560) with fee income breaching $800m (£422.7m) as the New York firm closes the profits gap with Manhattan’s legal elite.

Results released to Legal Week Global for the firm’s 2003 financial year show revenues up from 2002′s $683m (£360.8m) to hit $801m (£423.2m), a 16.5% increase, placing Weil Gotshal as the seventh biggest US firm by fee income.
