Latham & Watkins is set to open a Shanghai branch as the top 10 US firm moves to establish its first base in mainland China.
Latham confirmed this week that it had applied for permission to launch a local branch, but said that it had no indication yet of when the Chinese Ministry of Justice would grant a licence, which international firms need to open an office.
