An internal report at Global Crossing has accused its former acting general counsel and law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett of breaching its ethical and professional duties to the group.

The report, published this month (10 March) by a special board committee, criticised former acting general counsel D Rhett Brandon for remaining on the payroll at Simpson Thacher during his period of office with the group and claimed that this created “a less than arm’s length relationship” with the firm.
