Simpson Thacher hires A&O rainmaker

Wall Street leader Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has secured its long-awaited UK law launch with the hire of top-rated Allen & Overy (A&O) finance partner Euan Gorrie.

The hire ends a three-year search by the New York firm for a senior London lawyer, with Gorrie handed the brief to build a heavy-weight UK law practice for Simpson Thacher.
