Business confidence among the leading UK law firms has dropped sharply over the past quarter. The Big Question’s quarterly survey of business confidence among more than 100 senior solicitors shows a large drop of more than a quarter – 26% – of firms predicting double-digit growth over the next year – down from 59% three months ago to 33%.

These figures compare even less favourably with the first half of 2001, when confidence was high and the figures reflected that with 71% and 73% in the first two quarters.
