WharfKen Livingstone is worried. London’s population, according to the Livingstone-commissioned report Planning for London’s Growth, is set grow by at least 50,000 each year over the next 15 years, putting an almost unbearable strain on the city’s infrastructure. The demands of business are also huge, with 400,000 jobs expected to be created by 2016.

These factors will create a boom in both the housing and commercial property market, good news for developers which can expect to clean up on new projects created to take advantage of the population explosion. Unfortunately, no-one seems to have told the developers this.
