British American Tobacco (BAT) has launched an appeal against a landmark ruling that its Australian subsidiary subverted justice by shredding thousands of documents in a case that has put BAT’s global advisers under the spotlight.
The move follows the decision of Australian judge Geoffrey Eames on 22 March to strike out BAT’s defence against a law suit brought by Rolah McCabe, a woman dying of cancer.
