Herbert Smith finance partner Jason Fox has advised sole arranger BNP Paribas on its £70.1m secured financing for Addax Petroleum’s Nigerian oil and gas interests. The deal is the firm’s first instruction for the bank in London. Addax will use the credit facility to re-finance its existing arrangements and to fund further exploration. Addax was advised in-house by Keith Fletcher.

Addleshaw Booth & Co has advised long-standing client Royal Doulton on its £18.9m three-for-one rights issue. The firm also acted for the group in relation to a revision of its banking facilities.
