Law Society“Chancery Lane? Total irrelevance to me.” That is the view I have heard countless times from City and corporate lawyers in recent years. It is normally followed by complaints about how much lawyers pay to the Law Society for practising certificates, comments about too much internal politics, too many pointless committees and too much meaningless paper.

The politics of the Law Society have improved immeasurably in recent years, but there is still a gulf of misunderstanding between the differing parts of practising professions and Chancery Lane.
