A Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom secretary has pleaded guilty to stealing $1m (£700,000) from one of the firm’s partners. Farnaz Farzaneh, who worked at Skadden Arps’ Washington DC office, allegedly stole the money over six years by writing personal cheques from the account of partner Lynn Coleman.

Michael Rogan, managing partner of the Washington office, issued a statement saying the firm had reported the matter to the US Attorney’s Office and the FBI and “the case is now in court and the firm will not be commenting while the case is still pending”.
