Silicon Valley firms enjoy dramatic revenue rises

West Coast technology firms are rapidly gaining ground on their New York rivals after seeing profits and turnover rise dramatically in 1999 in a record year for US firms.

Figures published by the American Lawyer in its AmLaw 100 report for 1999 show New York firms facing increasing competition from Silicon Valley firms, which have shot up the rankings on the back of soaring profits.
