The emergence of the ‘£100m Club’ is revealed by Legal Week’s survey of the 1998-99 financial year. There are now 13 lucky members of the club and the inescapable conclusion is that they are leaving the rest behind.

Ian Nisse, the managing partner of the £100m club’s newest member, Ashurst Morris Crisp, admits that partners at the firm were worried that two to three years of relative under-performance had raised fears of being left behind.
