The first bellwether trial against Juul Labs Inc. is set to begin next month in a case involving a Tennessee teenager who got hooked on its electronic cigarettes.

The June 21 trial in San Francisco also is against Philip Morris owner Altria, which obtained a 35% stake in Juul in 2018. It will last about a month, with a second and much shorter phase on punitive damages expected to follow, U.S. District Judge William Orrick of the Northern District of California said at a pretrial hearing on Monday.
