Manhattan attorney Peter Heberling was disbarred by a unanimous Appellate Division, First Department, panel on Tuesday as a result of pleading guilty to attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors in the first degree.

Heberling, formerly of the firm Salans, which is now part of Dentons, pleaded guilty to the crime, a Class E felony, in March 2013. In October, he was sentenced to five years’ probation and required to register as a sex offender.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee sought an order striking Heberling’s name from the roll of attorneys on the grounds that he was automatically disbarred when he pleaded guilty to the felony, in accordance with Judiciary Law §90(4)(b).

Raymond Vallejo represented the disciplinary committee. Heberling did not appear.

Justices Angela Mazzarelli, David Friedman, Leland DeGrasse, Helen Freedman and Barbara Kapnick sat on the panel in Matter of Heberling, M-912.
