Attorneys representing FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York appeared in federal court Thursday hours after prosecutors conceded that five of Bankman-Fried’s 13 charges should be severed from his indictment amid ongoing legal proceedings in the Bahamas, where he was arrested in late 2022.
