Describing it as a means of returning more people to court, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said Wednesday the state will distribute $20 million to support a continuum of supervised pretrial services to all counties outside of New York City.

Speaking during a public safety symposium put on by the New York Division of Criminal Justice Services, Hochul said the funding will support a continuum of pretrial services such as screening and assessments, supervision, a centralized case management system, and dedicated information sharing with the court system.
