Ilan Graff, the top deputy in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, is heading to Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, where he will rejoin his old boss, former SDNY U.S. attorney Geoffrey Berman.

Graff’s departure from the federal prosecutor’s office had been on the horizon for several months, after new Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damian Williams announced in October that Margaret Garnett, commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation, would be serving in the role. Graff had been asked to remain in the office through the transition.
