With bipartisan support, Ketanji Brown Jackson on Thursday won historic Senate confirmation as the 116th justice and first Black woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Three Republican senators—Maine’s Susan Collins, Utah’s Mitt Romney and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski—joined with all 50 Democrats to move Jackson’s nomination to its final goal by a vote of 53-47.
