The confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson ended Thursday with the American Bar Association reporting no evidence of Republican claims that she is “soft on crime,” and a GOP state attorney general declining to recognize President Joe Biden as the “duly elected, and lawfully serving” leader of the nation.

Outside witnesses testifying for and against the nomination concluded four days of hearings held by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee will hold its first “mark-up” or consideration of the nomination April 4.
