Michael Sussmann, the Perkins Coie partner indicted earlier Thursday by Trump-appointed Special Counsel John Durham for allegedly making a false statement to the FBI in 2016, has resigned from the firm, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed. 

The firm issued a statement saying In light of the Special Counsel’s action today, Michael Sussmann, who has been on leave from the firm, offered his resignation from the firm in order to focus on his legal defense, and the firm accepted it.”
