Winston & Strawn have brought on a former Justice Department official, Jonathan Brightbill, as a white-collar and investigations partner in its Washington, D.C., office, one of the latest Trump administration lawyers to join Big Law.

Brightbill was acting assistant attorney general for the environment and natural resources division at the Justice Department. In that division, and also at his prior firm, Kirkland & Ellis, he worked for a time with Jeffrey Clark, the controversial figure who reportedly plotted to oust the acting attorney general in the final days of the Trump administration.
