The Department of Justice doubled down on felony gun charges against Hunter Biden in the District of Delaware on Thursday, adding two counts to the case that less than two months ago was expected to be diverted as part of a plea deal.

The indictment alleges Biden lied about his illegal substance use on a form when buying a gun in Wilmington in October 2018, then confirmed the information on that form was valid. It also carries over the charge originally brought in June that claims Biden violated the law prohibiting a person addicted to a controlled substance from obtaining a firearm.
