Baby formula manufacturer Abbott Laboratories faced increased scrutiny from congressmembers Wednesday over the national shortage of its products. Anticipating more lawsuits and moving to coordinate them into multidistrict litigation before a single judge, plaintiffs’ lawyers considered selecting South Florida as the venue.

The attorneys discussed the cases at a Wednesday conference in Pittsburgh, as Abbott is facing lawsuits over its Michigan plant, which was shut down due to unsanitary conditions.
