What do you think has been the most effective step you’ve taken to increase diversity and inclusion at your firm, and why?

Creating an environment that encourages individuals to be their authentic self provides the biggest impact to diversity and inclusion efforts. In the early days of my career, I did not think this was possible, but seeing other diverse attorneys in leadership roles and among the partnership ranks served as motivation and encouragement. Today, as I continue to aspire to leadership roles and positions of impact, I strive to remain true to myself. Leading by example in this manner, I believe, provides the greatest impact as it shows others that the firm is a place where diversity and inclusion are valued.

What’s your best advice for firms hoping to emulate your success?
