After recovering from a hectic six-year run as WeWork CEO Adam Neumann’s right hand, the company’s former legal and operations chief, Jen Berrent, is ready for what comes next.

“I’m a firm believer of the 10,000-hours idea. You work for 10,000 hours and get good at something and start something else,” Berrent said. She was about 10,000 hours into being a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr when she made the jump to in-house at WeWork in 2014.
