Marietta Jo, who’s been an attorney for no less than Avon and Estee Lauder, has just become the general counsel of another skin care products company, one with a not-so-storied name—Supergoop.

Supergoop, which makes sunscreen-enhanced skin care products, has emerged as one of the hottest female-founded companies of the last decade. Last fall, Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, bought a majority stake in the business, which had an overall valuation of $1.2 billion as of the end of the third quarter, the latest period available.
