The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company announced that Karen Narwold is retiring after 13 years as general counsel and that Kristin Coleman, general counsel of food-distribution giant US Foods the last six years, will succeed her.

“[Narwold] has been a resilient executive leader for Albemarle, helping to steer the company through transformational growth,” CEO J. Kent Masters said in a statement, citing the company’s $6.2 billion purchase of  Rockwood Holdings as an example.
