As demand continues to surge for data privacy expertise in Big Law, the associate talent battle in this practice has intensified, with associate lateral moves in 2021 significantly up from prior years.

Data figures from due-diligence-focused consulting firm Decipher indicate that associate hires in data privacy are up 35% in January through March compared with an average of the three prior years. The movement coincides with similar hot demand for corporate associates.
