The list of women legal trailblazers in Connecticut is long and distinguished. Ellen Ash Peters, Ellen Bree Burns and Catherine Roraback, to name a few, have firmly established themselves in the annals of those who have made a substantial mark in the jurisprudence of this state. Their names are known to all in the legal community.

But the name of Mary Hall, the first woman admitted to the bar, does not enjoy such notoriety. This is regrettable since attorney Hall, by her courage and willingness to fight for her rights, forever changed the legal landscape in Connecticut.
